Digi has launched its first official shop on Shopee, a growing online shopping platform. By collaborating with Shopee, Digi said it aims to make transactions "extremely easy, fast and secure for the large database of users to purchase mobile top-ups".“We are excited to join Shopee as this partnership supports our vision to offer a seamless, online retail experience to our subscribers. E-commerce is an exciting opportunity for us and Shopee is a clear choice thanks to the total of approximately 4 million users that are spread across Malaysia. We’re looking forward to drive greater synergy between our online and offline channels to provide greater convenience and extra value to the 12 million Digi customers in Malaysia,” said How Lih Ren, Digi’s head of iTelco. He added that Digi is currently on a mission to transform the company into a digital services provider . To achieve this, the first innovation it is implementing is the digitisation of its core systems across all of its touch points.“Apart from our own channels, partnering with an established e-commerce player like Shopee was an obvious and very simple decision to make,” How said, adding the retail space is evolving and brands which see this, have embraced it and are innovating in this field.“Supporting brands like Digi’s push into e-commerce is something we are privileged to be a part of. Malaysian online shoppers and Digi subscribers can look out for exciting offers in the near future as we work towards driving synergy between e-commerce and the telco industry,” said Ian Ho, regional managing director of Shopee.
