The mobile space is not to be tampered with, unless you’re a telco provider.DiGi has brought back its Challenge for Change (DiGiCFC) programme, inviting Malaysians and local app developers to build innovative community-centric mobile apps to bring forth positive change.Christian Thrane, chief strategy and corporate affairs officer at DiGi said that the challenge program has expanded in scope and reach in the past few years, and continues to leverage on the power of mobile internet to bring meaningful change.“Mobile internet and mobile apps remain a relevant an effective platform to inspire and bring about change, especially in the way we experience the internet.”The challenge hopes to create a strong foundation on how it engages with the public, the local mobile developer community and industry colleagues.DiGiCFC invites Malaysia to submit ideas and apps in four categories: learning and education, health and wellness, discovery culture, and a new category called connected citizens. To maximise the potential of each idea and mobile app, DiGi has established two events as part of its programme – namely #IDEAJAM and #HACk!@DiGiCFC. These events will serve as checkpoints for participants to fine tune their ideas and apps. The competition sees partners in 1Malaysia for Youth, the Economic Transformation Programme, Digital Malaysia, Google Malaysia, and Microsoft Malaysia.
