DeVries Global makes top management hires

Communications micro-network DeVries Global has appointed Maddy Rao as executive vice president, client management and strategy.In her new role, Rao will serve as the client relationship leader for global, regional and local clients in Singapore, expanding her focus across Asia over time. Rao will also assist in fast-tracking the agency’s integrated capabilities.She joins DeVries Global from Mindshare, where she served as managing partner, Global Planning.She brings a forward vision on the convergence of marketing communications functions, deep consumer user journey work, extensive digital expertise and both global perspective and broad regional understanding, the agency said.“As we look at ways to optimise our structure in Asia, we’re focused on creating greater value for clients and service efficiency through a regional leadership model,” Heidi Hovland, chief executive officer of DeVries Global, said.“Maddy’s appointment comes at a pivotal time of growth and possibility for DeVries Global in Asia. I’m confident her rich and diverse experience will have immediate impact on the value we bring to clients and our ability to further expand and mobilize our unique operating models. I look forward to great things ahead for Maddy and our entire Asia operations.”Rao will report directly to newly-appointed Asia regional managing director, Andres Vejarano, who is set to join DeVries Global in April.Rao will be based in Singapore and commences her new role on 9 March.These shifts take place as DeVries Global veteran DeLisa Harmon’s two-year secondment as managing director, Singapore comes to a close.The agency's clients include National Gallery Singapore, Anjali Chocolat, CÉ LA VI, and most recently, Johnson & Johnson’s Acuvue.“DeLisa’s curiously creative outlook, passion for team-building and expertise in lifestyle marketing will leave a long-lasting impression at DeVries,” said Hovland. “We thank her for leading our Singapore office for the past two years and wish her much success as she prepares to embark on her next adventure.”The DeVries Global Singapore Managing Director responsibilities will migrate to Andres Vejarano, who will oversee the DeVries Asia footprint.
