Dentsu Utama boosts senior team

Dentsu Utama, a subsidiary brand of Dentsu Aegis Network today announced the promotion of two members of its account management team and the appointment of two more senior staff.The promotions and appointments are in tandem with the agency’s continued investment in talent strategy, to further strengthen the agency’s position in the industry, boost its breadth of offerings to their clients, and to further intensify its sports marketing capabilities in the market.Jeffrey Chua, previously associate account director will now be promoted to account director working across various client sector namely, property, banking and automobile.Boo Mei Ching, previously senior account manager will now be promoted as associate account director for the sports marketing arm, a division within Dentsu Utama, managing the Telekom Malaysia (TM) account.Shahmeez Reza bin Dina Rizal will be appointed as business development manager. Shahmeez will drive the Telekom Malaysia account in partnership with Mei Ching, focusing on the Malaysian football properties. Prior to this appointment, he was with Nestle Products Sdn Bhd and Permanis Sandilands Sdn Bhd for over four and a half years.Sylvia Wong has re-joined Dentsu Utama as associate account director after seven months of leaving the agency. In her new capacity, she will manage a stable of client sectors, namely FMCG, Fashion and Consumer Electronics brands.Commenting on the promotions and appointment, Omar Shaari, chief executive officer of Dentsu Utama (pictured) said, “We have revved up the client management talents in tandem with our aim of maintaining the agency’s high level of service for existing clients and to develop new business opportunities across the industry including sports marketing.”“We believe that this move will help fulfil our clients’ objective of taking their brands to the next level while embracing our mantra ‘Creativity or Nothing’,” concluded Omar.Hideo Katakura, vice president, Dentsu Utama Sdn Bhd, further added: “We are pleased with the return of our employee as it is a testimony of Dentsu Utama being the right agency to be at, to be empowered and build a career, besides leveraging on the opportunity of working with some great brands.”Dentsu Utama is now a 65 member company servicing both local and international clients, among which are Honda, Boon Siew Honda, Panasonic, I&P, TM, Bridgestone, Ace Canning Corporation Sdn Bhd, RHB Bank, Fashion Valet, Unicharm Malaysia and Mandom Malaysia.
