Dentsu Aegis Network acquires another Malaysian agency

Dentsu Aegis Network has inked a deal to acquire Malaysian digital marketing agency Consider Digital. Consider Digital will combine forces with Dentsu Aegis Network’s global performance marketing brand iProspect in Malaysia to form Consider iProspect.This is the second significant acquisition by the network this month alone, with the first being Merdeka LHS. Dick van Motman (pictured), chairman and CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network Southeast Asia explained that currently Malaysia is a key market for the network in Southeast Asia. He added that the market is “ripe to accelerate the network’s convergent proposition with digital and creativity at its core”.Consider Digital was co-founded in 2013 by Kasper Wandi and Therese Schwensen. Wandi is a former member of Google’s senior leadership team with a strong track record of shaping the digital strategy of over 100 clients across Europe and Asia Pacific. Schwensen is a digital expert with experience working for IBM and LinkedIn. Under their leadership, Consider Digital has grown to a team of 50-strong digital specialists and services clients such as HSBC, Astro, TuneTalk, Marini’s on 57 and Intercontinental among others.Post-acquisition, Kasper Wandi will lead the newly-formed Consider iProspect as CEO and will report into Nicky Lim, CEO Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia. He will be supported by Therese Schwensen, chief operations officer, Andrew Turner, chief business officer, and James Lyne, chief strategy officer.Kasper Wandi, CEO and founder, Consider iProspect said: “It is the perfect time for us to elevate ourselves by partnering with an established global market leader. The only way is forward and we are going full speed ahead,” Lim said.The deal is expected to close in April.
