DDB snags grand Effie

OMD has come away with the most number of awards at the 2014 Effie Awards.The media agency scooped 4 awards this year ahead of DDB and Leo Burnett.In total 26 Awards, including one Grand Effie and four golds awards were presented at Effie the Island Shangri-La last night.The campaign “From CNY to WNY: Making the Most of the New Year” of McDonald’s Restaurants Hong Kong, which was done by DDB Group Hong Kong, emerged as the Grand Effie and Gold winner amongst 25 finalists. The other Golds were won by Leo Burnett Limited for “ARE U SURE?” campaign, Havas Worldwide Hong Kong for “The Orange Beach” campaign and OMD Hong Kong for “Two Thoughts One Goal” campaign.In general figure, the brand Dettol and McDonald’s gained the most honors with three trophies respectively. Creative agencies DDB Group Hong Kong, Havas Worldwide Hong Kong, Leo Burnett Limited, Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Hong Kong bagged three trophies respectively, while media agency OMD Hong Kong awarded the highest no. of trophies with 4 this year.The Grand Effie, Gold, Silver, Bronze winners and Finalists will be included in the Effie Effectiveness Index, a global ranking which identifies and ranks the most effective marketers, brands by analysing finalist and winner data from worldwide Effie competitions.
