DDB Hong Kong has appointed Valiant Yip, the former director of activation at Leo Burnett Hong Kong, to take on a new role as business director and head of LIVE, DDB’s PR and activation arm.
In his role, Yip will be responsible for key clients including Fortress, Watsons and Wrigley. He will also help grow DDB’S PR and activation unit LIVE and work closely with DDB Tribal on activation work for major accounts McDonald’s and VitaVitasoy.
Yip joined DDB from Leo Burnett where he was director of activation on the Samsung, Nestle and Kinder account. His work for Kinder Joy titled “Mobile Goodness” claimed the Grand Kam Fan award at HK4As’ Kam Fan Awards 2013.
In his 14 years in advertising, he has worked across tier clients from HSBC, Nestle, BMW, British Airways, Microsoft, Samsung, Sun Hung Kai, MTR and Ferrero.
On his first day at DDB yesterday, Yip told Marketing that the move was about creating a new work environment and new creative energy.
“I have worked with a number of creative talents in DDB Group previously which I am so looking forward to create more excellent work in the near future,” Yip said.
“With the great support by CEO Simone Tam and ECD Jeffrey Gamble, the rebirth of LIVE should bring some new sparkles and breakthrough to the DDB Group especially in activation,” he added.
