Dick van Motman (pictured second from left) has been promoted to global and Asia Pacific president of Dentsu creative agencies. He will take over from Masahiko Hibino, the current global president of Dentsu creative agencies, who will retire at the end of this year.
Prior to the appointment, van Motman was CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Southeast Asia. According to a press statement, his successor will be named in due course.
At the same time, Mitsuyuki Nakamura has been promoted to global and Asia Pacific president of dentsu X. Meanwhile, Masaya Nakamura (pictured far left), newly promoted executive officer at Dentsu Inc., will also join the team in Singapore. He will be appointed global and Asia Pacific executive client president for Dentsu Aegis Network, focused on expanding relationships with homegrown Japanese and key global clients. Nakamura has worked with clients such as The Coca-Cola Company, McDonald’s and Bridgestone Corporation in Japan.
This comes as Takaki Hibino, executive director at Dentsu, returns to Tokyo as executive officer of Dentsu Inc, after two years in Singapore. Hibino will manage global business development from Tokyo working with Dentsu Aegis Network’s leadership and client teams.
Motohiro Yamagishi, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network China, will move back to Tokyo to take on the role of executive officer in charge of domestic client relations. He will be succeeded by Phil Teeman (pictured far right). Prior to the move, Yamagishi had been leading the business in China for over three years. During this time Teeman was managing director of Dentsu Aegis Network China.
Nick Waters, CEO Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific, explained in a statement that the move represents “strong continuity planning and close collaboration” between Dentsu Inc. and Dentsu Aegis Network. This is to provide stability for its clients and growth opportunities for our people.
“Hibino-san has been, and will continue to be, a great contributor to the Dentsu Aegis Network business and the appointments of Teeman, Masaya Nakamura, Mitsuyuki Nakamura and van Motman to their respective roles enables us to build on the momentum within the Dentsu agencies. I thank Yamagishi-san for his contribution to the business in China,” Nick Waters, CEO Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific said.
