Global Market eCommerce (GMeC), a subsidiary of investment holding company Dagang NeXchange (DNeX), has launched its GoHalal4All platform in the Philippines.
This comes after it signed an agreement with the Department of Education Division of Naga City and the Local Government of Naga City of the Philippines last month, to develop a halal hub in the country.
GMeC executive chairman Mohamed Hazli Mohamed Hussain said the platform is the first initiative under its partnership with Naga City and that more initiatives are in the pipeline, which includes offering halal-related training.
The agreement signed in June offers DNeX the opportunity to implement overall initiatives for the halal hub, including the development of blueprint, systems and framework for the hub. DNeX will also be involved in the establishment of a Halal Accreditation Centre for the halal hub. Datuk Samsul Husin, executive deputy chairman of DNeX, previously said that the agreement marks a "key milestone" in the company's venture into the Halal industry.
