CNN International promotes Ellana Lee to senior VP

CNN has promoted Ellana Lee, formerly vice president and managing editor of CNN International Asia Pacific, to the global role of senior VP at CNN International.The promotion will add international oversight of the network’s roster of feature programmes to Lee's role while she continues to manage CNN’s editorial operation across Asia Pacific.Working in close partnership with colleagues at Turner International, Lee will also be charged with spearheading and developing CNN International’s business operations worldwide from the Asia headquarters in Hong Kong.Tony Maddox, executive VP and managing editor of CNN International, said the promotion marks the first time a senior international person at CNN is based in Asia.“In this new role, Ellana becomes our most senior executive outside of the US," Maddox said.Lee first began working for CNN as a producer in New York.Source: Press Release
