CK Tan steps away from ECD role with O&M Malaysia

Ogilvy & Mather (O&M) Malaysia’s group executive creative director Chee Keong Tan, also known as CK, has stepped down from his role as the executive creative director. A spokesperson of Ogilvy and Mather confirmed the news to A+M.When reached out to by A+M, Jacey Lee, COO, Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia said, "Tan is going to Shanghai to take up the role of a chief creative officer in a local agency. We will miss him but this is a challenge which he wants to pursue."She added that Ogilvy Malaysia has no plans to find a direct replacement for his role but is looking at several talent within and outside Malaysia for senior creative positions.At O&M, Tan worked on brands such as Allianz, Coke, Huawei, Strong Bow, Kirin. Prior to this, he was working at BBDO Malaysia as the executive creative director when he expanded the company's creative portfolio. In the past, he was the deputy executive creative director of Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia. Moreover, he also worked with  agencies such as Leo Burnett Malaysia and Ogilvy Hong Kong in the past.Some of the brands Tan has done work on include Malaysia Airlines (Worldwide), Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts (Worldwide), Prudential (Asia-Pacific Region), Unilever (Dove/Pond’s), Maxis, Pizza Hut, GSK (Panadol/Eno/Oxy/Dequalin), Nestle (Maggi Instant Noodles/Milo), BMW, Bernas, Motorola, Guinness and Nike.
