Last year, by this time, we were flooded with the tiny red dot appearing everywhere. This year that had dot evolved into a heart carrying the numbers 51.To show their love this year, brands too decided to play tribute in interesting localised forms. From Singlish announcements to national anthems, take a look at what brands are up to this National Day.OppoOppo Singapore has launched a Singlish campaign called #SinglishBoleh to celebrate the upcoming SG51 National Day celebrations. An album containing colloquial Singlish terms was published on its Facebook page, ranging from "Call Beh", "Call Bu" and "Phang Seh". It even accepted user contributions such as "Siao Fie" which describes an individual who takes too many selfies.The campaign will run from 2 August 2016 until 9 August 2016.[gallery link="file" ids="145072,145069,145068,145067,145066,145064,145063,145061,145059"]JetstarTo celebrate SG51, Jetstar will be introducing Singlish announcements on 9 August 2016. Customers flying into Singapore on selected Jetstar flights will hear a Singlish version of the familiar on board announcements, made by the pilots and cabin crew."Faster cheong and book at jetstar.com, mai tu liao! So cheap don’t buy you rugi!" the press statement read. Since its launch a week ago, the spot has garnered 730,000 views on Facebook, 9,700 Facebook reactions and 4,700 shares at the time of writing.StarHubStarHub released a special rendition of the National Anthem, "Majulah Singapura" sung by 51 Singaporean mothers. Called "Majulah Moms", the music video hopes to inspire all Singaporeans to unite as One Singapore by a common dream to build a brighter future for the ones we love.This music video is StarHub's latest in a series of National Day campaigns to promote inclusiveness and togetherness in Singapore and comes after its SG50 hit "Home by Homes" starring talents from nine voluntary welfare organisations and "SG4SG" that celebrated small local businesses in 2014.Changi AirportsTo celebrate the nation's 51st birthday, Changi Airports will be bringing back old school snacks and games familiar to locals, such as Milo, five stones and biscuit piring wafer which travellers can get their hands on from Changi experience agents. Since its launch two days ago, the video promoting the initiative has garnered 10,000 views on Facebook and 381 shares.SingtelSingtel is paying tribute to four staff who encapsulated its initiative in promoting a more inclusive Singapore for the nation's 51st birthday. The four individuals featured in Singtel's integrated communications campaign in the lead up to National Day are Dipa Swaminathan, Singtel's assistant general counsel, Nur Madiah Hidayah Lim Binte Othman, Singtel’s customer care officer, Edmund Quek, Singtel’s radio network quality director and Teo Ek Thong Singtel's voice engineer senior manager.The stories will be shared in the newspapers as well as social media to spread the message of inclusivity, along with an internal campaign to rally its staff to support worthy causes through the company's mobile wallet application, Singtel Dash. The funds raised will benefit disadvantaged communities, especially the vulnerable children and youth.[gallery link="file" ids="145134,145084,145085,145087"]McDonald’sIn anticipation of National Day, McDonald’s Singapore posted an adorable image to throwback its recent launch of local flavours in their menu, from its Salt & Pepper Twist and Shake fries, Cheese or Egg McSpicy, Spicy Nuggets and Gula Melaka McFlurry.NetflixMaking the lineup is none other than Netflix, which stitched together a series of clips from its various television shows to make up the lyrics to "Home" by Kit Chan, an iconic Singaporean song.
