For the first time in 22 years, pay-TV industry group CASBAA is taking its annual TV conference out of Hong Kong, opting instead for Crown Melco's new digs at Studio City Macau. From November 7 to 10, CASBAA will look to add new energy to its annual conference, which in past years has lost steam amid a struggling TV industry and competition from the likes of APOS, hosted annually by Media Partners Asia. “It will be the first time ever for CASBAA to hold an event in Macau," said CASBAA CEO Christopher Slaughter."We are thrilled to be bringing the region’s pay-TV industry together to experience all that this exciting city has to offer."CASBAA board of directors chairman Sompan Charumilinda said the CASBAA board overwhelmingly endorsed the move to Macau, saying it is part of the association’s ongoing efforts to keep our annual convention fresh and invigorating. "We are confident that the delegates, speakers, and sponsors will find the new venue and location contributing greatly to another excellent CASBAA Convention. "Furthermore, Studio City provides the convention with a bigger footprint than we've ever experienced, which offers many benefits, such as private meeting rooms and networking functions, which our delegates are sure to enjoy."
