Canon creates a drama

Canon Singapore has launched its regional online video contest “Love Drama? Create Your Own” in conjunction with its Legria range of high definition flash memory camcorders. The Legria competition is open residents of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. Each country’s winner will receive a prize package of USD2,000 cash and a Canon Legria camcorder to capture their movies and memories. In addition, the five most popular videos will be further shortlisted and two winners will stand to win a USD5,000 cash prize and an opportunity to work with a film director to reshoot their movie using Canon Legria technology.

Hasbro appoints PR agency

Strategic Public Relations Group (SPRG) Singapore has been appointed as the Public Relations (PR) agency of record for branded play entertainment company, Hasbro Singapore. SPRG will provide strategic communications counsel, media relations and oversee publicity initiatives for the client. The duo have worked together on previous projects. Earlier this year, SPRG was entrusted by Hasbro Singapore to oversee all publicity efforts for the Resorts World Sentosa Singapore Transformers Cybertron Convention 2012 which was held in Southeast Asia for the first time. In June 2012, the two collaborated again with SPRG called in to facilitate in the launch and promotion of the world’s first two-sided Monopoly board game conceptualised and developed by Hasbro Singapore – the Monopoly Singapore: Then and Now.

Expedia gets sporty

Online travel company Expedia has signed a deal to become the official sponsor of Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMO). The deal will see the Expedia brand appear on the shirts of match officials at the Barclays Premier League, the npower Football League, The FA Cup with Budweiser, the Capital One Cup and other domestic, professional matches. The one year sponsorship gives Expedia access to over 2,500 professional football matches, with an estimated cumulative global TV audience in excess of 5 billion.

SPH revamps property portal

Singapore Press Holdings’ online classifieds portal ST701 has unveiled a new property search site for property seekers and realtors with improved functionalities. Previously known as ST701 Property, SPH’s online property portal is now called STProperty to lend a more direct reflection of the property search function. The domain name has also been changed to reflect the new brand – Conceptualised to match agents to property owners and seekers effectively, visitors will have access to an up-to-date database of resources including buy-sell-rent guides and credible news articles mainly from The Straits Times and The Business Times.

New name for Ten Alps

Ten Alps Communications Asia has renamed itself Contineo Media, as part of its rebranding strategy. The company has been operating in Asia since 2010 with offices in Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai. Contineo Media publishes B2B titles in print and online such as Television Asia Plus, Asia Image, Control Engineering Asia, Control Engineering China, Payload Asia, Asia Food Journal and others.
