Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. expanded its partnership with Asiasoft Corporation to bring its games to thousands of avid gamers in the Philippines.
Since 2011, Asiasoft is the exclusive distributor of Blizzard’s best-selling games in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. The latest deal expands its regional reach to include the Philippines where Asiasoft subsidiary Level Up! Inc will handle the operation and marketing of Blizzard game titles in the island nation.
The expanded partnership comes in time with the upcoming release of Heroes of the Storm, a free-to-play online team brawler starring iconic heroes and villains from Blizzard’s Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo.
“Heroes of the Storm will bring together many of the most popular heroes and villains from more than 20 years of Blizzard games,” said Paul Sams, COO of Blizzard Entertainment.
“Our focus on team combat and map-based objectives make the game accessible to new players, while offering depth for competitive gamers as well. We believe gamers in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines will love playing Heroes of the Storm,” he adds.
Heroes of the Storm is currently in the technical alpha phase and is being developed for Windows and Mac platforms.
