BlackBerry ends 2012 with a concert

BlackBerry has organised an exclusive concert, the BlackBerry Music Mania, to thank its customers and to celebrate its success throughout this year.Held on 31 December, the concert features artistes like Sheila on 7, Hujan, 6ixth Sense, Meet Uncle Hussain, Kyoto Protocol, Kartel Records and Bunkface.The concert is targeted at the youth segment where BlackBerry is the device of choice in the prepaid market."BlackBerry Music Mania celebrates the popularity of the BlackBerry brand in Malaysia. It is also to celebrate the lifestyle statement that the BlackBerry brand carries, which is coupled with functionality," said Chris Jones, senior marketing manager, Malaysia, RIM.The concert is also complemented with a street carnival, with performances and activities by event partners such as Harian Metro, Media Prima, KFC, Pizza Hut, Rasamas and Kaw Kaw Burger Bakar.RIM is expecting about 5,000 people for the concert and 15,000 for the carnival.The Blackberry Music Mania is promoted through a one-month campaign, which started on 1 December 2012, on print ads, OOH, social media and the BlackBerry Music Mania official website.Besides running ticket giveaways on the official Blackberry Malaysia Facebook page, the official BlackBerry Twitter account is also used to promote the concert. Through this event, BlackBerry Malaysia Facebook fans have increased to over 518,000.The official radio for the BlackBerry Mania Music is Hot FM, TV9 is the official TV station, Lowyat.net is the official portal while Lansi is the official apparel.The BlackBerry Music Mania is fully presented and organised by Tempus Communications.
