Biggs joins e-commerce firm Bolei Digital

After a year working with the Gravitas group to establish its Inspire Digital Asia consultancy, Napoleon Biggs has shifted to a new role as partner and commercial director for e-commerce firm Bolei Digital.Launched by Charlie Bodycote in mid-2013, Bolei Digital helps retail brands explore e-commerce opportunities in China and across Asia.Bodycote was previously the director of online technology and operations at Lane Crawford, where he built its multi-channel e-commerce platform.Biggs told Marketing there is a huge opportunity emerging in the online retail space, particular for European brands looking to enter China’s booming, but complex, e-commerce market.He said the company would bridge a gap between a seamless online and offline retail experience, with a strong focus on in-store data and technology.“We are making sure that what happens online, happens offline and vice versa,” he said.See more news on BiggsBiggs, the founder of Web Wednesday, previously worked with PR firm FleishmanHillard across Asia running its social media unit before joining Gravitas Group as chief strategy officer in September 2012. Last year he took on the role of managing director of Inspire Digital Asia, helping to launch the company in Hong Kong and subsequentially Singapore.China already has more online shoppers than any other market, including the US. The Boston Consulting Group predicts China will likely become the largest online retail market in the world by 2015.
