Big Mobile names new group CEO

Big Mobile’s executive chairman, David Green, has been appointed group CEO and will assume the role while continuing with his responsibilities as Chairman.In his new position, Green will take a more hands-on role within the business with the aim of driving further success across the company’s key areas in ANZ and Southeast Asia.Graham Christie, who took on the role in July of last year, after being promoted from commercial director, is leaving the business after a total of eight years and remains a shareholder.Christie said, “Eight years is a long time in any business and now is the right time to leave and for me to focus my attention elsewhere. The changing relationship between people and the brands they choose and subsequently how businesses adapt continues to really motivate me, so I’m not going far.”Green, who was CEO from 2009 until 2015, added: “We have a great business with a fantastic management team to drive Big Mobile into Asia. We have an exciting plan for the next 12 months and see plenty of growth opportunity both here and overseas. Graham has made a tremendous contribution to Big Mobile over the years and been instrumental in helping us get to where we are today and we wish him every success for the future.”The leadership change will also see chief financial officer, Richard Leifer, step back into the business to assume a new role as head of people experience.
