BeMyGuest secures SG$11.5m in series A funding

BeMyGuest, a provider of tours, activities, has secured SG$11.5 million in series A funding to date, enabling it to further accelerate the company's growth across Asia.It also concurrently launched BeMyGuest Labs, a B2B platform where suppliers and resellers can leverage on the company's distribution network through a range of travel technology solutions, such as B2B agents marketplace, e-tickets and revenue management system.In a statement to Marketing, BeMyGuest COO and co-founder Blanca Menchaca, said the funds will be used to promote its BeMyGuest Labs and the new technology products it will be launching for the tours and activities industry throughout Asia, with a focus on the needs of consumers in the region. Menchaca added that the company's mission was to create the largest platform of tours, activities and attractions across Asia, and that the funding will enable it to continue with their "relentless innovation" for the sector.Headquartered in Singapore, BeMyGuest has offices located in Malaysia, the Philippines and China. The company declined to comment on whether the funds will be used to expand the marketing team.According to the press statement, BeMyGuest's main focus is to serve the highly complex Asian market. It has over 500 strategic distribution partnerships with companies such as Ctrip, Ticket Monster, Tuniu and Alitrip. It also works with over 4,500 suppliers of over 25,000 activities, day tours in more than 900 destinations, including Indonesia, Vietnam, China and Japan.“This series A is an affirmation of our vision and validation of our business model. We are certain that the quality of our technology, content and customer service will take us through the next phase of growth with an extremely robust partnerships pipeline going live in 2017 and beyond,” BeMyGuest CEO & founder Clement Wong, said.The funding was led by Raffles Venture Partners and renowned technology investor Koh Boon Hwee. SPRING Singapore's investment subsidiary, SPRING SEEDS Capital and travel agency Chan Brothers Group also participated in the round.“The upfront commitment to build a solid scalable digital platform has put BeMyGuest in the front seat for Asian online tour and travel activities. We are pleased to support and be involved in this exciting journey with BeMyGuest," Yap Ning Jee, executive director and co-founder, Raffles Venture Partners, said.“BeMyGuest has proven themselves through successfully becoming the largest aggregator of Asian attractions, tours and activities content, and their continued track record in hyper scaling the B2B business. We are confident of the team cementing its position as the category leader," Koh Boon Hwee, chairman, Credence Partners, added.“Not only does BeMyGuest contribute in upgrading the technological capabilities of our local travel agents, it will also increase tourist arrivals by marketing our local attractions to international visitors,” Ted Tan, deputy chief executive, SPRING Singapore and Chairman, SPRING SEEDS Capital, said.“By investing in BeMyGuest, we continue to develop and expand our travel ecosystem alongside capturing different market segments, as we move towards the future of travel that is more efficient and accessible to our customers,” Anthony Chan, managing director, Chan Brothers Group, said.
