BBC has appointed Lewis PR as its local PR agency of record for BBC Worldwide’s channels business and BBC Global News with the remit to promote programming content across all channels.
The agency was appointed following a competitive pitch and the contract lasts for a year. The incumbent agency was Fulford PR.
Lewis PR will run an integrated communications campaign including media relations, digital marketing, events and press bureau.
Going forward, the agency will focus on consumer communications for BBC Worldwide’s portfolio of pay TV channels, comprising BBC Knowledge, BBC Lifestyle, BBC Entertainment and CBeebies.
Lewis PR will also support the business communications objectives for BBC Global News Limited’s platforms BBC World News and bbc.com/news, the BBC’s commercially funded international news channels.
The agency has been tasked to increase awareness of monthly programming through trade and consumer media and will position BBC World News and bbc.com/news as an international multimedia news provider, bringing global perspectives to its Singapore viewers.
“Lewis PR’s goal is to help both brands increase viewership and share of voice. We want Singaporeans and expats to know these channels are an incredible source of information, education and entertainment,” Andy Oliver (pictured), SVP, APAC, Lewis PR said.
BBC Worldwide recently made changes to its ad sales business with Sunita Rajan, currently SVP, advertising sales, Asia, taking on the executive vice president role, adding BBC.com and Lonely Planet in Australia to her remit.
The company also saw the departure of EVP and general manager of BBC Advertising, Chris Dobson.
