Celcom is calling out to Malaysians to bake their best Merdeka-themed cupcakes with their latest Celcom Cupcake Challenge campaign on Facebook.
In conjunction with the country’s 55th anniversary of independence and the upcoming Malaysia Day on 16 September, Celcom’s online contest challenges Malaysians to submit photos of their creative cupcake designs in the spirit of 1Malaysia.
The campaign, conceptualised by both Celcom and Zenith Media, is driven by social media while bloggers were also engaged to promote the campaign to drive Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
Dato’ Sri Shazalli Ramly, chief executive officer of Celcom Axiata, said it chose Facebook as the contest channel to get more Malaysians engaged with it.
From the final submissions, which are to be received by 20 September, 55 participants with the most ‘Likes’ on their entries will be chosen for the grand finale on 29 September 2012.
During finale, the 55 finalists are to replicate their cupcake designs witnessed by the public and a panel of celebrity judges, who will choose the top three cupcakes designs based on creativity, uniqueness and closest match to submitted photos.
