Asia PR Werkz launches fintech arm

Asia PR Werkz has launched a new public relations practice for fintech and new age start-up companies in the region. The newly set up team will be led by Anu Gupta, who joins Asia PR Werkz officially today as associate director. Gupta brings with her over 17 years of global public relations industry experience.

“As the largest and most diversified homegrown independent PR agency in Singapore, we believe that this is the right time for us to grow our fintech and start-up practice. At Asia PR Werkz, we spend a lot of time and effort finding the right people so we can provide our clients with the best leaders in the industry,” Cho Pei Lin, managing director at Asia PR Werkz, said.

Gupta started her public relations career in Bangalore (India’s Silicon Valley), following which she moved to Dubai and set-up her own public relations agency – Watermelon PR. After her move to Singapore, she spent a few years as a freelance writer contributing to The Asian Parent, The Huffington Post and several corporate positions. In 2016, she joined the then newly set-up public relations agency  REDHILL as a director and was their first employee.

Gupta’s client portfolio comprised of start-ups and new age companies across industries such as fintech, med-tech, health-tech and venture capital firms. She played a key role in building the agency’s presence in markets like India, Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia. She believes that her greatest strength is her deep understanding of the industry, media landscape across the region and working models that start-ups actively look for in their partners.

“The excitement is two-fold for me. Being an integral part of a well-established and fast-growing local firm as well as being able to put to test my entrepreneurial skills all over again. I believe the start-up sector in the region has been going through exciting times and I am confident that we will be able to build a competent practice that will not only deliver quality work to our clients, but also set benchmarks in the PR industry,” Gupta said.
