Soaring eagles, a leaping tiger and Andy Lau. It has all the makings of a classic parody, but sadly it’s not.
The campaign is Tao Ti Telford’s latest slow-motion TV, which went to air last night, which sees Andy Lau, a brand ambassador for the tea brand since 2000, fighting off wild animals to drink its classic Supreme Green Tea product.
Created by Fox production, with media managed by PHD Hong Kong, the spot runs on TV with a heavy digital element hoping to capture a younger audience.
The TVC breaks the mold for Tao Ti, which usually features the actor in more natural settings in outdoor ads.
Wilson Wong, planning manager of PHD Hong Kong, said the media placement for this campaign sees a big difference as the entire marketing budget has been shifted towards online channels, narrowing the target on young generations.
The spot will run until mid April.
