Anderson exits IHG

David Anderson, regional vice president of brands for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), is exiting the company come December 2012 to take up a role at Virgin Australia Airlines.Anderson will be taking on the new role of general manager, brand strategy and performance and report to the chief customer officer, starting January 2013.At IHG, he was responsible for brand management, consumer insights, quality & continuous improvement.He will now be replaced by Karin Sheppard who is currently the SVP sales and marketing for Asia, Middle East & Africa. Sheppard will expand her remit to take on overall responsibility for the various brands.Anderson has been with IHG since 2005 and prior to that, he was with Hilton International in various roles. He has also had experience working with British Airways.IHG, an international hotel company has a global presence across nearly 100 countries and boasts seven brands including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and others.
