Allergan Medical Aesthetics picks media agency

Allergan Medical Aesthetics has appointed Carat for its media planning and buying duties. The appointment covers the Asia Pacific market.The partnership is said to be on-going and work will be led out of the Carat Singapore regional office. This is the first time Allergan Medical Aesthetics has appointed a regional media agency.Gladys Peters, APAC Marketing Director at Allergan said the agencies “strong focus on deep consumer insight” was aligned with what the company was looking for in a strategic media partner.“Their clear strength in digital media also gives us confidence that we are indeed partnering with the highest expertise in this increasingly important area,” said Peters.“The medical aesthetics category is undergoing something of a revolution. We’re looking forward to working closely with the team at Allergan to develop innovative communication solutions that will deliver significant business value,” said Kevin Walsh, chief digital officer at Carat Asia Pacific.Meanwhile Leo Burnett Group Singapore was also appointed earlier to handle integrated communications for its medical aesthetics range in Asia Pacific. The appointment, which followed a competitive pitch involving three other agencies, marked the first time Allergan has appointed a regional creative agency to handle its direct-to-consumers marketing for its medical aesthetics line in the region.Allergan is a global, multi-specialty health care company that is a pioneer in the field of medical aesthetics.
