Alchemy's Liew starts his own agency

Michael Liew, the former managing partner of The Alchemy Partnership, has sold his stake in the company and established another multi-platform communications consultancy group, The Fat Oracle (TFO).As the CEO of the new agency, Liew said: "The time was right. I've had a good run building Alchemy from scratch and I wish the remaining partners there the best for the future."Clients for TFO include a bank in Myanmar and Singapore property developer and a regional motor-racing company.Liew (pictured) founded The Alchemy Partnership eight years ago with four other partners. Before Alchemy, he held local and regional management positions in the former Batey Ads and Ogilvy & Mather Asia-Pacific in Hongkong, leading prominent local and regional accounts such as StarHub, Motorola and Nike.He added that being "the new kid on the block" he hopes to build "a group of genuine specialists" in the areas of branding, web development, social media and activation and  arm clients with a range of options and possibilities to build their businesses with."Alchemy is currently being led by Alvin Wong as its CEO who was previously the ECD of the agency.
