Akamai appoints public relations agencies

Web services provider Akamai has settled its pitch for its public relations duties, appointing several agencies throughout Asia Pacific.Previously, Akamai confirmed that it had called a pitch for the markets of Australia/New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Japan, Korea.Waggener Edstrom has been appointed for the markets of Singapore, Hong Kong and India. It has been contracted for three of those markets for a year. The agency is tasked to help Akamai strengthen its relationships with business decision makers and support its media relations, Dan Benelisha (pictured), regional technology practice director, Waggener Edstrom told Marketing.Lewis PR, which previously held the business for Singapore and Hong Kong for the past two years, will now take care of the Australia/New Zealand market.Shangz Communicationz will take care of duties for Taiwan, Prap for Japan, and Min Comm for Korea. An Akamai spokesperson confirmed all the appointments to Marketing.Last year, the company appointed Frederic Moraillon as vice president of marketing for Asia Pacific and Japan.
