Airbnb releases a nostalgic film for its “Lost & Found” cultural heritage campaign

Airbnb has launched a film with the theme of preserving traditions in China, showcasing cultural heritage across several Chinese cities.

Part of its larger “Lost & Found” campaign, the film aims to attract younger generations to traditional experiences and encourage them to trace their collective cultural roots. It has been launched across social media platforms.

The film offers an overview of masters of several heritage activities interact with young travellers in four cities; Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, and, Qiandongnan. It ends with a tagline: “Reconnecting with the traditions of the past. A journey from lost to found begins now.”

“Our mission at Airbnb is to bring people together, sharing experiences and building communities. It’s worrying that as generations pass, culture gets forgotten. This film is our contribution to help culture be remembered,” said a spokesperson of Airbnb.

Mother Shanghai, the creative force behind this project, said, “Traditional culture and craftsmanship are gradually being forgotten in today’s fast-moving era. This beautiful and moving documentary should help people begin to appreciate Chinese traditional culture there once again.”
