AirAsia finds a new airwave with Astro

AirAsia has launched a two-minute travelogue-style show in partnership with Astro.The program, titled Now Everyone Can Fly with AirAsia, launched this week as a collaboration with Astro to drive tourism and traffic to various AirAsia routes.Kenny Wong (third from left), head of commercial at AirAsia, said the partnership sees two leading home-grown brands with a global outreach in a strategic collaboration to bring TV viewers in Malaysia the best of AirAsia's travel experiences at these 26 destinations."Research tells us that TV viewers on Astro's platform are more likely to have higher disposable income, and as such, also have a higher propensity to travel."Kenneth Teo, vice president, media sales at Astro, added Astro viewers are two times more likely to have travelled in the past 12 months, compared to free-to-air viewers.He said recent studies show about 70% of Astro subscribers come from mid-to-high income homes.The 26-episode program will be aired in Mandarin and English on Astro channels such as Wah Lai Toi, AEC, Hua Hee Dai, AXN, AXN HD and Star World.
