AEON Group has rolled out its AEON Wallet mobile app and AEON Member Plus Visa Card to show support for the government’s aim of turning Malaysia into a cashless society. It also aims to dispel the notion that cashless payments are neither secure nor user-friendly.
The AEON Member Plus Visa Card allows loyalty member card customers to collect double the reward points at all AEON retail outlets and functions as a Visa prepaid card for cashless payments in-store and online. The AEON Wallet mobile app supplements the AEON Member Plus Visa Card and allows for payment via QR code.

Managing director of AEON Asia and AEON Co., Shinobu Washizawa, said technology is rapidly changing the way it does business and makes up a large portion of the customer experience. As such, the company believes it is a great time to launch both products because customers in Malaysia are becoming more receptive towards convenience in everything they do, such as e-payment methods.
AEON currently has six million customers under its loyalty programme, he said. “At AEON, we believe that a complete retail store is crucial to ensure our customers receives the experience and necessities to enhancing their lives, which is why we are always open to listen to our customers and improve our offerings,” Shinobu added.
