DMG Events, which ran ad:tech and iMedia in Asia has shuttered its operations – with the last day of operation due to be 31 July this year.
Wendy Yung, content director, Asia Pacific confirmed the closure to Marketing magazine. “We feel the macro-environment was no longer conducive to such events,” she told Marketing.
However, she added that the decision to close the office came as a surprise.
This means ad:tech and iMedia events will no longer be held in Southeast Asia. Other markets such as Japan and Australia also hold ad:tech, and these will continue.
Yung added that she had yet to confirm her next role. The last ad:tech event saw a total attendance of 1,586 this year, 200 less than last year.
