3M encourages the public to go green

To celebrate the World Environment Day, global innovation company 3M has launched a campaign to raise public awareness to environmental issues, especially the younger generation.As part of the campaign, the US-based company partnered with China Next Generation Education Foundation, the “Green commuting fund” of China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO) and Environmental Defense again to hold an environmental themed offline event on 4 June in Shanghai, encouraging teenagers and families to take part in protecting the planet.The brand has also taken different approaches to engage its target audience, including collecting ideas from teenagers on how to be environmentally friendly to create a better world, as well as organising a two-month “My dream home” children’s painting competition which received more than 2,000 drawings from across the country in just one month.The event also further educated children on the concept of low carbon living through different interesting games.Meanwhile, 3M also announced to donate environmental products to 300 primary schools in Shanghai and CANGO’s “Green Commuting Fund”, such as air cleaning filter and air purifier.
