Two provincial Chinese satellite TV stations Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps TV and Sichuan TV have been suspended from airing advertising for violatiing the required length of advertisements. All ads on China's official Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps TV will be suspended for 15 days from today, while Sichuan TV will be suspended for seven days, according to a statement by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. The suspensions come after a government crackdown on phony and misleading content and unreasonable frequency and length of commercials that were implemented on 1 January, which bans TV commercials longer than three minutes.According to the statement, the two TV stations have been broadcasting shopping commercials and have deliberately turned a deaf ear to several orders by the administration, which said both  had “severely violated” the rules.
