We delivered this product, where basically, in partnership with them [Globe], there’s free basic services with upsells. We’re starting off with Facebook and Messenger, the next version we’re going to do is more basic services,” he adds.Globe confirmed the claim with figures, saying that since the Free Facebook service began and now extended until 30 April, it has doubled its mobile data user base. Mobile browsing and other data revenues also increased to P11.6 billion as of end-2013, up 42% from P8.2 billion in 2012.Globe claims that more than 1% of Facebook users worldwide are using Free Facebook on Globe. The telco has been democratizing internet use for Filipinos in its partnerships since last year. In November, Globe Telecom also became the first carrier in the world to launch Google Free Zone, which allows prepaid users access Gmail, Google+ and Google search on mobile phones without a data plan.
