YouTube sees a new CEO, proving again females are at the helm of innovation

YouTube has announced that Susan Wojciciki will become the next CEO taking over from Salar Kamangar. She steps up from her successful leadership with Google’s Ads and Commerce department.Google is just one of the many organisations recognising and promoting staff without considering gender.According to a recent survey by McKinsey, female executives are ambitious and sure of their own abilities to become top manager though they are less confident their companies’ cultures can support their rise. Sixty nine per cent of mid-level or senior women say they are confident they will succeed in reaching a top-management position, compared with 83% of their male peers. However, two of the world's most successful digital companies have women sitting in their C-Suite. Sheryl Sandberg joined Facebook in 2008 as COO, while Marrisa Mayer took on the role as CEO of Yahoo in 2012.These three successful women have demonstrated the moving mind set in gender diversity. They all have backgrounds with Google and are married with kids, proving that women need not fear that having a family will hinder them from progressing forward in their careers. In a constantly evolving digital scene, they have shown that women flourish in innovative environments.Facebook has recently launched its mobile app Paper, a publishing platform that will drive more traffic and eventually increase the company’s revenue. Yahoo's stock has more than doubled in value since Mayer took the helm.It will be interesting to see what plans Wojcicki has for YouTube and how marketers will engage with the new leadership.
