Yahoo Picks AKA Asia For SG9

Singapore – Yahoo Asia Pacific has awarded the remit for its Singapore Nine (SG9) awards campaign to AKA Asia, following a three-way pitch.

The event aims to recognise emerging talents between 18 and 35 years of age in Singapore, providing them an avenue to realise their future potential. The SG9 Awards will focus on three main sectors, including business, social enterprise and entertainment.

Running on Singapore’s National Day on 9 August for a second year, AKA Asia will be tasked to manage the teaser campaign as well as event management duties for the awards night.

Praveen Velu, special projects manager of Yahoo Southeast Asia, said the company chose AKA for its clear understanding of Yahoo’s objectives and a strong track record in delivering brand experience via its integrated PR services.

“We first worked with AKA when the team hosted Social Media Week Singapore, a hugely impressive series of events that demonstrated to us what AKA is made of,” he said.

AKA Asia’s client portfolio includes global brands like Johnnie Walker, Diageo, Smirnoff, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Guinness and Carlson Hotels.

Additionally, Yahoo has also launched a series of advertising products to bring targeted, interactive ads to Southeast Asia. The Clickable Mobile Video Ads, Smart Ads and Targeted Ads will bring together real-time interaction of the Internet with Yahoo’s consumer insights to deliver innovative marketing campaigns across devices.
