JWT Kuwait has partnered with Sami Yusuf (pictured) to help the United Nations World Food Programme expand its “Live Feed” campaign to support ongoing relief effort for Super Typhoon Haiyan survivors.Islam’s biggest rock star wrote a special song for Live Feed Philippines in a bid to raise both attention and donations on behalf of more than 4 million Filipino who lost their homes and livelihoods in the aftermath of the strongest storm in recorded history. The track, “Hope Survives”, is available for free on Yusuf’s official website and on the campaign’s website designed by JWT Kuwait.“Two months after the tragedy, a lot has been achieved, but we need to keep our foot on the pedal and ensure that we continue to strengthen the families who have lost everything as they strive to rebuild their lives; Sami’s beautiful call is very timely and sends a powerful message that we are still far from having overcome the hurdle,” WFP Philippines Country Director Praveen Agrawal commented.JWT Kuwait brought the song to life with a hard-hitting online video showing a young Filipina kid saved from the ruins of the storm, albeit only digitally – a reminder that what life is slowly getting back to normal, wounds Haiyan dealt need and take time to recover.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2su-_Flztu0“Hope is louder than tragedy. That is something we as people prove to each other every day by being generous and giving to those who need it most,” said Karim Bitar, managing director at JWT Kuwait. The collaboration was inspired from a previous JWT-Yusuf mashup in 2011 for a similar initiative called Live Feed Africa” which was launched to aid the millions of people affected by drought in the Horn of Africa.Donations can be made at wfp.org/LiveFeedPhilippines and http://livefeedphilippines.org.
