Weekender Inks Deal With SingTel, Iris Hires

SingTel and Weekender enter ad deal In a major partnership, SingTel's media sales unit iMedia, will represent the Weekender Group to sell advertising space for the newly-launched weekend newspaper Weekender. Weekender was launched last week and claims to reach 230,000 households. Madeline Tan, director advertising sales, SingTel iMedia said the Weekender complements SingTel iMedia's mobile, digital, direct and IPTV media platforms, and enables it to "integrate a powerful print platform" in its media offers to advertisers. Advertisers in the early issues of Weekender include brands from sectors such as property, health and beauty, fashion retail and others. Market response to the title has been good given close to SG$1 million in ad bookings committed, and prime spaces in the paper locked through to November, according to David Phey, COO of Weekender Group.iris appoints creative group headIndependent creative agency iris Singapore has appointed Timothy Chan as creative group head. Chan (pictured) will spearhead the creative tasks for clients such as Heineken, Audi, Adidas and Emirates amongst others. He comes from McCann Erickson Malaysia where he spent five years working on high profile brands such as Proton, Coca-Cola, DiGi, Nespray, Neslac and others. He will report to Subha Naidu, creative director at iris Singapore.Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore calls pitchMaritime and Port Authority of Singapore has called for creative agencies to quote for the creative development and communications-based work for Singapore Maritime Week 2013. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore will be organising the eighth edition of the Singapore Maritime Week from 7 to 12 April 2013. The tender closes at the end of the month.
