Weber Shandwick names head of technology in Asia

Weber Shandwick has appointed Lydia Lee as head of the agency's technology practice for Asia Pacific, effective immediately.Based in Shanghai, Lee will work alongside the firm's Global Technology practice chair, Tim Fry.Apart from the new title, she will retain her current role as head of the firm’s Emergent China practice and chief strategist for China, reporting jointly to Baxter Jolly, vice chairman, Asia Pacific, and Darren Burns, managing director, China.“Lydia has served as an exceptional leader for our team in China, supporting foreign technology clients as they expand their reach domestically and advising Chinese companies looking to make a greater impact in international markets,” commented Jolly.“Her ability to advise strategically across languages and cultures has led to hugely impressive results for our clients.”Lee has served the agency since 2009 and was previously with sister agency GolinHarris.Meanwhile, vice president Carolyn Devanayagam has been appointed to head the firm’s Technology practice in Singapore with immediate effect. Devanayagam first began her tenure at Weber Shandwick in 2004, based in Kuala Lumpur. She now returns to Southeast Asia after nearly six years with the firm in Shanghai.
