Weber Shandwick appoints new executive VP

Weber Shandwick India has named Rafi Qadar Khan as executive vice president.Khan (pictured) has over 20 years of communications experience behind him. Prior to the appointment, he was a part of Cohn and Wolfe in India, where he managed the strategic growth of the agency and the project of diversifying its client portfolio. He has held various leadership positions in the communications field and has experience in brand creation and positioning, entry strategy and integrated marketing.His new position will have him oversee client delivery for the company in India with particular focus on implementing the firm's strategy to provide robust and engaging client work. Additionally, Khan's business acumen will also see him entrusted with a key role in reinforcing Weber Shandwick's current activities, while also offering strategic counsel on business development in the market.Khan will be based in New Delhi, and will report directly the company's CEO for India, Valerie Pinto.“In this era of engagement, we need to keep abreast of emerging trends and evolving client needs," Pinto said. "With Khan’s appointment, I believe that we have acquired a great asset who can further mentor our teams to embrace the transformation afoot in media and help Weber Shandwick stay ahead of the curve."
