Last April, McDonald’s announced that its clown mascot, Ronald McDonald would be getting a makeover and would be taking a bigger role in social media with #RonaldMcDonald.
Last weekend, the newly made over clown made his first appearance in a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur, helping to create an indoor sledding hill and bringing in machines to generate snow.
The video was created by French agency June, Twenty First and the event was handled by Olsen Engage.
David Zlotnik, director-global marketing at McDonald’s told Adage that Ronald will be appearing at events globally and participants at such events will be encouraged to use the #RonaldMcDonald hashtag.
