Walt Disney appoints SEA lead

The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia has appointed Chris Marsh as general manager, Studio Entertainment.Marsh (pictured) will report to Robert Gilby, managing director, The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia and will be based in Singapore.He will oversee all movie distribution, live events, and marketing across Southeast Asia for live-action and animated films from Disney, Pixar and Marvel studios. He will also work closely with other lines of businesses to expand key partnerships and marketing synergies, increasing the reach of the Disney and Marvel brands.Marsh joins the Southeast Asia team from Walt Disney Studios in California. He has been with Disney for seven years and was last responsible for the in-home retail sales business for the international markets.He has also previously worked in various marketing and business development roles at Warner Bros., Lucasfilm, Turner Broadcasting and Sony Pictures."Content and experience are key drivers of theatrical outings for families everywhere. Chris brings in a great combination of international franchise management experience and cross-functional studios knowledge to support Disney's brand building initiatives and in growing the studios business in Southeast Asia," Gilby said.The company also reworked the roles of its top management including those of Amit Malhotra, Natasha Malhotra and Nicholas Wodtke in June this year.
