Vocanic launches offshore engineering office in Sri Lanka

Vocanic has expanded its tech capabilities with the inauguration of its new offshore engineering office in Colombo, Sri Lanka.The facility will contribute in the areas of Vocanic’s "state-of-the-art cloud-based social customer care and customer relationship management platform, VSocial, and its application program interface, VSocial-API, as well as custom build campaigns", said the company in a press statement. At present, Vocanic’s Sri Lankan office has full web, social and mobile engineering capabilities.Vocanic first opened its offices in Sri Lanka in 2012 to serve the increasing tech needs of the markets they serve. It was pioneered and headed by Vocanic HQ alumni Sasanga Abeywickrama, Thilina Hasantha and Kasun Karunathilake. They are joined by Thilanga Jayarathne who has headed platform engineering since 2014.The move comes at the back of Vocanic’s acquisition by GroupM in late 2013, and is the latest development in the tech-focussed agency’s seamless assimilation with the media group.
