Visa launches global media pitch

Visa has launched a global media pitch.Currently, OMD handles Visa’s media buying duties in Asia. The account was handed to the agency following a review in 2008 along with Latin America and several parts of Europe.Marketing has reached out to Visa to comment on which markets in APAC will be impacted.In a statement to Adweek, a spokesperson from Visa said: "As is the practice throughout our industry, we undertake regular agency reviews, and periodically decide to open parts of our portfolio to other firms to present their capabilities. We have decided to conduct an RFP for a global media agency partner and welcome the participation of our current agency and others in this process."Meanwhile, just last week, Hewlett Packard appointed Antonio Lucio who is Visa's brand chief as chief marketing officer (CMO). Lucio has been in charge of Visa’s branding activities for over eight years. Late last year Kevin Burke, chief marketing officer of core products at Visa also left his role for to head to payment service provider Square.
