The results are in for our first quick poll and while numbers were only modest 44 (of you voted), only two said they allow pre-roll video ads to play, if they are given the choice to skip them.While some media owners are risking driving users crazy by insisting they watch as much as 30 seconds of video ads before the content they clicked on plays, mass adoption platforms like Youtube are much kinder to their users offering the "skip the ad " option after a few seconds.The videos which can create the most engagement in those first few seconds are the ones less likely to suffer the dreaded "skip" click.Here are the poll results:With pre-roll video ads on platforms such as YouTube, do you ever let do you ever let the ads play or skip as soon as possible?Let them play 4.5%Skip as soon as humanly possible 95.4%Image source: www.someecards.com
