UBS captures art lovers through Planet Art

To coincide with Art Basel in Hong Kong, UBS has unveiled the iPhone version of mobile news app Planet Art.The app uses algorithms to read, index and objectively rank publicly available information from mainstream media, traditional art world news outlets, niche publications and blogs according to what's trending and relevant in the field of contemporary art, as reported by the media.News sources include Art Asia Pacific, BBC Culture blog, Financial Times, The Guardian, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, with South China Morning Post, China Daily, The Straits Times, Asia Tatler, Japan Times and Korea Times as some of the latest additions for the launch.[gallery link="file" ids="88381,88382,88383"]Planet Art also integrates data from thousands of artists, institutions, cities and events."My Stream" is a type of news feed that users can personalise by tagging artists, galleries, institutions and locations.The launch of the iPhone version of Planet Art comes after the app was launched in beta for the iPad during the December 2014 Art Basel at Miami Beach.Source: Press release
