The Trade Desk, global demand-side platform, has hired Matt Harty as its senior vice president of Asia Pacific. Harty (pictured) will be based in Singapore.
Prior to this appointment, Harty co-founded the first pan-Asian Ad Network, SpaceAsia Media, which was sold to CMGi in 2000. Harty also co-founded Activ8, a yield management company preceding programmatic supply-side platforms. He has held leadership roles at Omnicom in Asia Pacific, and ran the Audience Solutions business for Experian Asia. An industry veteran, Harty has worked in online advertising in Asia since 1997.
Jeff Green, CEO and cofounder of The Trade Desk, said: “Our growth in APAC drove the need to staff across the region and into Korea, Japan, and Australia. With Matt’s dynamism, industry knowledge, and strong relationships, we’re confident he’ll have immediate impact on the business.”
Harty added, “The Trade Desk is a major global player in ad tech. The team and technology are both industry leaders. I hope to do them credit and help in their journey to change how media is traded.”
The company established its Singapore office in July 2013 to meet growing client demand in the region; it has since opened offices in Seoul, Korea, Tokyo, Japan, and Sydney, Australia.
