Tourism WA Gets Extraordinary

Tourism Western Australia (WA) has launched the "1001 Extraordinary Experiences" campaign, fronted by former champion Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist (pictured), aimed to increase tourism throughout WA.Fans of Western Australia are encouraged to submit photos and share their extraordinary experiences of WA on the Facebook page for a chance to win a trip to the States."We are committed to helping small tourism operators in regional WA by funding campaigns like this that encourage higher visitor numbers, bolster local economies and make a valuable contribution towards building sustainable communities, "said Kim Hames, tourism minister.Once the top 1001 images have been determined, an interactive film and website will be developed to allow potential visitors to research travel options and access deals after engaging with content submitted by holiday-makers to the State.Campaign spokesperson Adam Gilchrist submitted the very first entry, a photo of a sunrise over Eagle Bay in the South West.Tourism Western Australia will also encourage celebrity fans of WA including Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Jerry Hall, Buzz Aldrin and WA expats Isla Fischer, Melissa George, Sam Worthington, Megan Gale and Rove McManus to submit their extraordinary Western Australian images.
