Tourism Malaysia names Siew Ka Wei as new chairman

Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, better known as Tourism Malaysia has appointed Datuk Siew Ka Wei as its chairman, effective yesterday.According to Malay Mail Online, Siew will be working closely with industry and media professionals to develop the country's tourism and will help to set the direction to woo more tourists into the country.He said that more focus would be also put on domestic tourism and Malaysians would be encouraged to travel internally. This will create "huge economic and social activities in these localities,” he told Malay Mail Online.Siew was heavily involved in both local and international field of petrochemicals industry, with more than 30 years of working experience. He was also previously the group managing director of Ancom Berhad since July 2003. He was also group managing director of Nylex (Malaysia) Berhad and executive Vice chairman of Ancom Logistics Berhad.
