TM appoints new CEO of Webe digital

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) has appointed Azizi A. Hadi as the new chief executive officer and executive director of Webe digital (formerly known as Packet One Networks (Malaysia) effective 1 August 2016, succeeding CC Puan.In his new position, Azizi will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Webe’s operations in fulfilling its aspiration to be the preferred digital mobility provider in Malaysia. Prior to the appointment, he was previously the chief operating officer of Webe digital.Azizi has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, which includes engineering, operations, sales, product development and management. He first served the TM Group in 2006 as general manager, technology and innovation, TM retail. He was then promoted to vice president of retail product on 1 February 2009 and was responsible for the development and commercialisation of TM’s products and services. He then became the executive vice president, SME in 2011 before assuming his role as chief operating officer of Webe in 2014. Prior to joining TM in 2006 as general manager, technology and innovation, he was with Maxis Communications Berhad as the head of broadband business unit and in network engineering and operations.Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, group chief executive officer, TM who is also the chairman of Webe digital said, “With his vast industry and TM-wide experience and technical know-how, we are confident that Hadi would be able to bring Webe to its next phase of transformation and growth as the company enters an exciting phase with the commercial availability of its service this year.""His performance so far has made him a prime choice for a broader role in the TM Group and I am confident that he will flourish and continue to grow with us. Hadi’s appointment fits well into the company’s journey as TM Group’s digital mobility services provider and centre of Excellence in mobility to support TM’s aspiration of becoming Malaysia’s Convergence Champion," he added.“We would like to take this opportunity to record our highest appreciation to CC Puan for his leadership as P1's founding member and contribution towards the growth and transformation of P1 into Webe, since our collaboration with Green Packet Berhad (Green Packet) and SK Telecom established back in 2014.
